Dear Doc friends and fans,

Doc will be appearing this Wednesday (2PM & 6:30 PM) at Lincoln Center, in the Film Society’s “1968 on Film” series.

It’s never-before-seen footage from 1969 at Colombia – in a documentary that sounds very interesting called “Where’s George?” by Canadian filmmaker Peter Davis.

I haven’t seen it yet, can’t wait!

If you by chance go check it out, please say hello to the filmmaker, and tell me how it was. I’m unable to attend, being up in New Hampshire in paradise at MacDowell.

Best,
Immy

'68 On Film
Series: 1968: An International Perspective [April 29-May 14]
Director: Various, Country: USA, Release: 1968, Runtime: 123

Three independent documentaries from the period. Special thanks to Peter Davis for making this program possible.

Made by veteran filmmaker Bill Jersey, America Against Itself presents the events surrounding the 1968 Democratic Convention in Chicago from the point of view of the protesters.

Peter Davis's Where's George? is the story of George Caputo, a 17-year old soldier who, refusing to serve in Vietnam, took refuge in the Columbia University Chapel. Supported by several student groups and some faculty, George became both a symbol and a cause for the campus' growing anti-war movement.

The Yippie Political Commercial (Quest Productions) will tell you all you'll ever need to know about their political program. With Jerry Rubin and Abbie Hoffman.
